In order to perform the DNA paternity testing to prove the identity of the father of a child a sample will be required from both the child and the man. These samples are generally obtained by swabbing the inside of the mouths of these individuals with cotton swabs. The swabs are then marked as to which person they were obtained from and then they are sent to the lab to be processed. It is possible that when this test is performed a sample will also be requested from the mother of the child simply to make a positive identification. This helps to prove that the swabs were not mixed up or in any way tampered with after they were taken from the subjects.

Leadership is very important in every sphere of life; no organization ever rises above its level of leadership, this is true of corporate bodies and true of the home. What the human brain is to the rest of the body is the closest analogy of what a father's role is to the family. When a tiny clot of blood lodges in the brain, it results in stroke or cerebro-vascular accident in medical parlance. The physical manifestation of stroke may be paralysis of a whole side of the body and malfunctions of some internal organs such as the bladder and anal sphincters. The damage caused by a small blood clot in a blood vessel in the brain is more widespread than if the same clot is lodged in a blood vessel of a limb or internal organ. When a father is absent or abdicates his responsibilities, the family is affected in diverse ways unless there are persons who will step in the gap to mitigate the effects of a father's absence.

It didn't matter that it was cold and wet, the action of the competition and play was such that nobody was ever cold. There would be the unsuspecting girl (or Black Lab) standing way too close to a 6" puddle, and it was irresistible to jump in with both feet and splash the heck our of everything.. As the exhaustion became an aphrodisiac and the endorphins mixed with the lack of sensitivity to the cold, we became a bit bolder. What were at first "foot- stomps" denigrated into full body slams into the cold rainwater. When the splashes were insufficient, there was indeed (hate to say it as a dad) dunking involved. There were side splashes, back splashes, back lashes and amazing crashes. There were times we brought our bikes, walked with spikes, floated tikes, it was all good.

One secret to a happy marriage is living a life that maintains the romance, even as the years have gone by. One main reason why couples divorce is that they fail to keep the "spark" or the "fire" alive as the drudgery of daily responsibilities get in the way. That is why most marriage counselors, and even religious ministers now recommend that married couples work on their marriage and live their union just as they did back when they were still dating.
I was reading some statistics today that are quite depressing. No, I wasn't reading about the economy, though that is also depressing, but rather about families. Here in the United States, one of the wealthiest countries in the world, and one would think with the liberties and freedoms we have, it would also be prosperous on the home front too, but sadly, that is not the case. Some of the statistics I was reading today included that here in America, forty-three percent of children live in fatherless homes. Ninety percent of runaways, seventy-one percent of pregnant teens, seventy-one percent of high school dropouts, and seventy-five percent of adolescents in drug rehab come from fatherless homes. As a father, this really saddens me, as a man, it makes me a bit ashamed of my gender.

Many fathers recognize the importance of developing mechanical aptitude within their sons, many fathers overlook the value in instilling those same skills in their daughters. It is also crucial that your daughter be good with her hands as well. The concept that it is only men who work with their hands is antiquated. It may very well be that your daughter may grow up to be a carpenter, mechanic, service technician, or skilled craftsmen. Even if she doesn't demonstrate a particular interest (or aptitude) in working with her hands, it is important that she develop a basic mechanical aptitude that she can rely on as she goes through life.

It has been observed that men tend to "do relationships" best in a side-by-side setting. In other words, men generally have an easier time of relating to one another when they are involved in an activity together. Whether it be a sport, a home improvement project, or simply going for a walk, men are often more willing to be vulnerable with one another when they are busy doing something else. While it is essential that men also learn to "do relationships" in a face-to-face setting as well, it is important to understand that men relationally thrive when involved in activity. This is especially significant when trying to develop your relationship with your son.

Is It True There Are No Juvenile Delinquents But Rather Delinquent Fathers and Is There a Remedy?

Family is so crucially important and particularly in times of crisis. Over these past fourteen years I have been involved with families where there are painful divisions and where one hears of children crying night after night. Many years ago I saw that there were no 'juvenile delinquents' but rather we were producing delinquent fathers. How many problems arise simply because men will not be men and take their role as responsible husbands and fathers and in that order? This is family care and concern and compassion at the deepest and most sacrificial level. There are times when, for our family, we have to sacrifice and make sacrifices and kill selfishness and self-centredness.

A Dad's heart can be a multiplicity of concerns, purposes and responsibilities. These multiplicities can and should be managed or they can get in each other's way. Wow, that's abstract. Let me explain further, everything a dad does will either detract or add to the progress in any and or all of his goals. Care must be taken that only purpose adding actions are taken in every area of the complex maze that a dad gets to live in. If not, then energy and emotions that belong to one purpose could be wasted or spent on another. What we are going to talk about here is some tips about doing little things to endear and encourage your kids.

From all the relationships in a family the one that is seen most neglected is the father daughter relationship; This is the main reason, we as dads have to give the most of our attention to our father daughter relationships. The connection we have with our daughter will shape the way forward for our daughter's life a lot (in many cases over the relation with her mother) that we can't simply put aside this relationship.

I felt compelled to write this after after watching a very intriguing series on A&E called Beyond Scared Straight. I remember a program when I was young simply called Scared Straight and had the same principle. This program brings young people at risk of "falling through the cracks" (10 to 18 years old) into prisons where they are exposed to real life behind bars. I watched it with my twelve year old son and he noticed a common theme among the kids in the program. About 80% said they didn't have their dad in their life.

Marriage can take the form of monogamy implying one man marrying one wife or the opposite which is polygamy which is often misinterpreted in the African context to mean only one man marrying many wives. The question beckoning for an answer is if monogamy implies one man getting married only to one woman and vice versa, what makes us feel that polygamy gives only the man the right to marry many wives? A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife. A woman will marry a man thinking that she will change him only to realize that the man will not change where as a man will marry a woman thinking that she will not change only to discern that she has changed. A happy man is he who marries the woman he loves. A happier man is he who loves the woman he marries. Instead of the man putting the wedding ring on the finger of the woman, the man will love to watch how he is instead removing the ring from the finger of the woman and vice versa. Wisdom in a man, patience in a woman brings peace in the house and happy life.
