I have liked Coldplay since the release of their first single Shiver. I think it was the guitar play and Chris Martin's voice which made me stop and listen initially and I was kinda a fan of Travis at the time who have a similar style. When Parachutes was released I was 100% won over, the album was one of my favourite and most played albums for a good few months until one of my mates threw it out of my car window on the M60 motorway because she said I played it too much. I did buy a new copy, but kept it at home where I could keep an eye on it.

I know it is very sad but I used to watch Neighbours (Australian Soap Opera) when I was younger, mainly because it was on at home after I got home from school but also because there were some nice looking girls on there. It was on Neighbours that I first learned of Natalie Imbruglia because she played the character of Beth Brennan. I am completely over all that now, (I've not even really watched TV for about five years) which is nothing to do with the fact that she left the show around 1994. Since that release I went out and bought their previous albums and have bought their subsequent albums too. I think what really attracted me to them initially was Cerys Matthews voice and looks. I don't know of that many Welsh, female singers but I liked the sound of her voice the first time I heard it, and looks wise she is very beautiful.
I don't think I know anybody who doesn't like at least one Beach Boys song, but I like most and have liked them since I was younger. When I was about 10 I used to save my pocket money and buy LP's and one day while I was at the market I came across Pet Sounds and bought it for 50p because I actually thought it was going to be the sounds of various animals, and thought it would be funny to own. When I got home and played it realized that it wasn't what i thought at all, but became an instant fan. After that I saved up again and again and bought more Beach Boys albums.

This is another band I have to thank my sis P for getting me into. When we were little kids my sister used to watch the Karen Carpenter Story over and over when we were on our 6 weeks holiday from school, and I used to pretend I didn't like it for a while because it was "girly" but eventually I gave in and then we used to sing all the songs together when they came on.

I began listening to ABBA when I was about 15 or so and just leaving school because obviously I had heard some of their songs on the radio and TV but somehow I came across an ABBA cassette and played it and then played it over and over. Musically and phonetically ABBA are one of my favorite groups of all time (which is why I am writing this).

James is probably my favorite of all the Manchester bands that I like (you have to support your own boys and girls). I first started listening to James because my sister P liked them when I was a kid. James is comprised of Tim Booth, Jim Glennie, Larry Gott, Saul Davies, Mark Hunter and Dave Baynton-Power. They formed in 1981 in Whalley Range in Manchester.

The Doors were an American band and were formed in Venice Beach in 1965 and consisted of Jim Morrison (Vocals), Robby Krieger (Guitarist), Ray Manzarek (Keyboards) and John Densmore (Drums). Jim Morrison made the band famous with his controversial lyrics and outrageous stage performances and antics. Jim was originally a poet and songwriter, and being my favourite singer of all time has inspired me to write many poems and songs over the years and until recently I have never shared them with anyone.
