I'll be honest, as a designated free-spirit and lifelong work-alone kind of gal, I'm no longer a big fan of the maverick's rule of life, liberty, and the lone pursuit of wealth. Lone methods are about as irrelevant to building a business or a hot-product today, as Eastwood's lone gun-slinging ways (back in his Wild West spaghetti flicks days) are irrelevant to teaching kids how to smile and play nice. I believe that being a recovering maverick qualifies me to say that without apology.

We spend precious energy resources bracing ourselves against the noise and dust of our own compulsive (oh, I mean disciplined) activities, and we refuse to remember where we actually started. It seems far too soon for a congratulatory pause so we rage against our need for balance and push on.

The idea is to be brazen, defiant if you like, in the face of pain and to challenge the grief itself to become useful. Dare it to carry you and then leave you someplace you long to be, and to do this before it takes its leave of you.

Get more of what you actually want. Paying attention to what you bring to your home-remodel! You have an enormous influence on the results of your home project.
Meditating With Martha In The Room

Is it difficult to turn down the volume of your mind? Does it feel like Wall Street in your head when you try to meditate? Meet Martha (or Ned if you are a man). Martha is my metaphor for the mind, and once you understand her true motives you will feel less frustrated and more at peace with the meditation process. In my own practice I have found it difficult to quiet my mind and for the most part the only suggestions I could find out there were... "Just focus on your breathing." or "With practice, it will come." or worse "It takes years to master meditation." I make no apologies that I don't want to wait for years before I can enjoy the benefits of going Zen on daily stresses. So I came up with a method, or rather a way of being with the process, that has greatly helped me and many of my clients. It takes the stress out of performing in meditation. After all, the whole point is to broaden the spirit, right? Not find something else to stress about. Try it as so many of my clients have and let me know what you think.

How to Remodel Your Home Without Demolishing Your Marriage

One morning you wake up, look over at your spouse sleeping next to you and say to yourself, "Who is that person sleeping in my bed?" The emotional tax during a remodel is very real, indeed. Less than halfway into it, many couples realize that there is -in fact- a huge emotional side to their project, and it is far bigger than they had imagined. Even if you have a very strong marriage, there are likely to be emotional side-effects you would rather avoid, and could, if you exercise the care necessary ahead of time.

Grief Toward Gratitude and Onto Grace - Intentional Grieving An Introduction

How can this grief prepare me for the rest of my life? We need not surrender the love we had with the one who has died in order to move on, or to become more than we thought we could be before. There is always pure love present within even the most difficult of loves, and in its purest sense love wants for each of us to become our most magnanimous selves.
